Welcome to El Taj Ocean and the El Taj Collection
My husband, Terry, and I have been going to Playa del Carmen since 1993. We’ve been to beaches all over the world (Australia, France, Spain, Cabo, Puerto Vallarta, etc) and Playa is my favorite beach (I am a beach girl).
Every year we’d make more and more trips to Playa. We finally decided to invest in the area that we love and have purchased a couple of condo/hotel units that we rent out. It’s been an experience doing this in another country. We are very proud of the 5 boutique properties, the El Taj Collection, all either on the beach or within 100 steps of the beach, and all within the Premier Zone of Playa del Carmen.
We offer El Taj Ocean, Porto Playa, El Taj Beach, Maya Villa and Villas Sacbe to anyone visiting Playa del Carmen.
Take advantage of our web sites where we try to provide tips and information on places to stay, restaurants, tourist attractions, and things to do in Playa.

Playa del Carmen
The beaches in Playa are white, soft sand, no rocks and the water is crystal clear. They are very clean beaches and you can see Cozumel on the horizon. You can walk for miles. Playa has a law that no building near the beach can be taller than 4 stories, so you’ll not see any tall buildings which is part of Playa’s charm.
Playa del Carmen is a European as well as South American and North American destination . Architecture is charming. People walk everywhere, including the pedestrian only, world famous, 5th Avenue. “The Fifth” is cobblestone, two miles long, and filled with shops and outdoor restaurants .
There is a ferry boat dock that will transport you in 40 minutes to Cozumel, ranked one of the top 5 snorkeling and dive spots in the world. Visit the ruins in Tulum or the cultural water park in Xcaret. Go zip lining at Hidden Worlds If you’re looking for a place with things to do, you’ll find windsurfing, deep sea fishing, and more. If you’re like me, and are just looking for a quiet place to walk the beach, lay on a chair and read a book, Playa del Carmen is the best place I’ve ever been to!

Hi Laura
I am hoping to take my daughter, my grand-daughter and also have my girlfriend come from Canada to Playa Del Carmen later this year. Your condos look clean and inviting. My question is are there babygates available?
My grand-daughter is 4 and slightly disabled, so we MUST have baby gates available.
Thanks Susan
Do you have anything available for the time around Feb 25th? We would like 10-12 days? We would like beachfront beach view.
